FAQ

Online Course-Specific Accommodations Request Guide

  1. Click the 'Accommodations' button in the main menu in order to get started.

  2. Select the course-specific academic accommodations that you will need for each course this term. You are choosing from a pre-approved list of all your accommodations (e.g. both classroom-related and exam-related) that our office has on record for you (which is based on the medical documentation we currently have on file for you as discussed at your intake appointment with your Accessibility Advisor). Only you and Accessibility Services has access to this complete list.

Select just the specific accommodations (both classroom and/or exam-related) that will be needed for each course.
Only your classroom-related accommodations will be exported to your Accommodations Letter for your instructor.
If you have exam-related accommodations, the ones you select for each course will be the ones you can later choose from if you need to submit any test/exam booking requests for that course.

    Remember:
    - the more notice you provide your instructor about your accommodations, the more options they will have at their disposal to help provide these accommodations
    - the Accommodation Letter is meant to initiate (not replace) dialogue between you and your instructor about your needs and open up discussion about how to apply them within your particular course or academic program.

  3. Submit these requests for Accessibility Services approval. If there are no changes to your academic accommodations, your Accessibility Advisor will send an e-mail to your instructor notifying them that your Accommodation Letter is available for them to view online. If changes to your accommodations are needed, your Accessibility Advisor will be notified to follow up on your request. Please read the information on the process to update your accommodations by clicking here or selecting the 'Help' button above.
